Transient boats and guests are welcome. Located north of Saugatuck and south of Grand Haven, Eldean Shipyard is a popular destination for Great Lakes boaters cruising in southern Lake Michigan. Summer slip rental and transient dockage are usually available, but we recommend you call first for a reservation. We monitor VHF channel 9 during store hours — call 616-335-5843 or email store@eldean.com. We accept VISA and MasterCard and require a credit card for deposit at check-in.
Arriving by water
Eldean Shipyard is located in Southwest Michigan, adjacent to the southeast shore of Lake Michigan on Lake Macatawa. Stay to the right upon entering Lake Macatawa from Lake Michigan through the channel — see our navigational charts. We have boat slips that will accommodate any draft, and a lower level dock extension allows us to safely fuel jet skis and smaller craft. Each slip is furnished with electricity and water. Pull up to the 168' long double-sided fuel dock to make arrangements for transient dockage.
Offices and ship store
Eldean's offices and Shipstore are located in the building just east of the fuel dock. We carry a complete inventory of electronic equipment, marine hardware and supplies, nautical clothing and more. ValvTect marine gas and diesel fuel, block and cube ice are available at the fuel dock. Additionally there are modern restroom and shower facilities, a children's playground, gas grills and picnic area, self-service laundry, pump-out, clubhouse, swimming pool and two hot tubs.
The shipyard
The shipyard is equipped with one 35 and one 70-ton open end Travelift and maintains a complete marine service department with 150,000 sq. ft. of heated inside winter storage. Many of our winter storage customers travel the extra mile from Chicago, Indiana, Wisconsin and West Michigan's coast for our exceptional facilities, competitive rates and peace of mind.
Nearby is a grocery store, restaurant, liquor store and post office. Beaches, biking and nature trails are just around the corner. For excursions out of Macatawa, taxi and car rental are available.
