There is no better place to relax than the pool deck at Eldean Shipyard — with a clubhouse and picnic areas close by.
The pool
The pool and hot tubs
The brick paver pool deck offers panoramic views of Macatawa Bay, the docks and the channel. The two hot tubs are great on a cool evening and there are plenty of lounge chairs for just relaxing.
The pool is open Memorial Day through Labor Day, 10 AM – 9 PM daily. A lifeguard is not on duty; however, most days a pool attendant is on site cleaning and making sure you have a relaxing stay.
There is a no smoking policy at the pool, and a county-wide smoke-free zone applies in certain areas of the marina.
The pool clubhouse is available for private parties during our slow days — see the clubhouse section below.

It wouldn't be a pool if there weren't a few rules
Please see the complete list of rules posted near the hot tubs or check with the pool attendant. Repeated violations may result in revocation of pool privileges.
- Glass, food and smoking are not allowed in the pool area.
- Children under 12 must be attended by an adult 18 years of age or older while at the pool.
- Children under 10 are not allowed in the hot tubs.
- Swim diapers must be worn by children as necessary.
- A boat owner may have up to 3 guests with them at the pool.
- Do not prop open the pool gate — the gate must remain locked.
The clubhouse

The pool clubhouse is a great spot to come and relax — a retreat for boaters right next to the swimming pool. Sit in a rocking chair and read a book, play ping pong, eat lunch, watch TV, or just get out of the rain.
Reserve it for a private party
The clubhouse is available for seasonal slip customers to reserve for small private gatherings. The cost to rent the clubhouse is $200 for up to 5 hours. For customers who slip and store their boats with us year-round, the rental fee is waived.
You are required to clean up the clubhouse after your event and throw your garbage away. You may opt to have us clean the space after your event for an additional $50. Those who do not clean up after their event will be charged.

What's included
When you reserve the clubhouse

- Guests may use the refrigerators and freezer
- The upper loft and deck are open and available
- Food may be served inside the pool house
- Food may be eaten inside, in the loft, on the upstairs deck and at the raised step area outside the pool house doors
Please note
What isn't allowed
- No pool parties — party guests may not use the pool, hot tubs or lounge chairs
- Do not use the pool deck area except for coming and going
- The stove is not available unless prior arrangements are made
- Loud, disruptive behavior is not tolerated
- Transient guests may not reserve the clubhouse unless part of a larger group or rendezvous
- Do not prop open the pool gate — it must remain locked
- Food may not be eaten on the brick area around the pool

The picnic areas are located at the playground area at the base of E-Dock, the base of C-Dock, and the base of Z-Dock. The areas at Z-Dock and E-Dock also include covered grilling and picnic areas.
Grill starting can be tricky…
The weak design point of our wonderful Weber gas grills seems to be the spark ignition system, particularly in windy weather. Believe it or not, we replace these igniters on a regular basis. The trick is to make sure the burner nearest the front of the grill is turned on HIGH, and that the timer is on (the timers are located on the right side, below the control dials). Then CLICK the starter button once about every five seconds until you can see a blue flame in the ignition hole in front. If all else fails, just place a lit match in the hole on the front of the unit. Wild and crazy “speed clicking” will not help — it only keeps us busy replacing the igniters.
The golden rule of grilling…
Nothing turns off a hungry chef like finding five pounds of barbecue sauce crusted onto the grate of the grill. One man's gourmet performance becomes the next man's garbage disposal problem. With that in mind, please clean the grill AFTER you use it. If a piece of steel wool or a wire brush doesn't do it, just leave all three burners on high while you enjoy your meal. Five or ten minutes of that high heat treatment can usually purge the messiest grate, and leave the next person grateful.
